FIRST… way to vote on our contest! We had so many people to the site last night that it CRASHED! We upped our bandwidth and all is well but WOW!

And now… Baby H. Henry!

ALL of our babies are special. ALL OF THEM. And all are perfect and sweet and adorable. But not all are sleepy! Even at just a few days old some babies give us a run for the money and fight sleep the whole time we’re there! Which is fine, except that it’s SO much easier to photograph them in all of those fun newborn poses when they are KNOCKED OUT! And Baby Henry literally slept the ENTIRE time we were there! I’m not sure we saw his eyes once!

And although seeing their eyes and capturing those funny newborn movements is so so fun… we love them sleepy too! Look at how many times we moved this kid around… it’s insane but he slept through it all!

Thanks to Henry’s mom and dad for letting us play with their baby so much! We had the BEST time! Enjoy your MASSIVE sneak peek!

Wow, can you even believe we are at the very end of July? Not only does it mean the start of August and school starting back up soon, but it marks the end of our first month as Fresh Art! We are both so excited to see how Fresh Art has taken off and we have big dreams and goals for all the coming months in front of us as well!

So we are going to end our month with a contest! Jodie & I went through each session from July and picked ONE favorite from each. Tough job. TOUGH! But we did it, and now YOUR job is to pick the Fresh Favorite for the month of July! The best part? The Fresh Favorite will receive a prize of that print on an 11×14 stand out mount! I think I’ve mentioned before that between Kim and I we have 10 kids. And I KNOW most of you know I have three little ones, which obviously means Kim has SEVEN. A fact that I like to tell everyone we come into contact with when we’re together. Simply b/c I think she deserves a massage, a big fountain diet coke and oh, I don’t know, maybe a parade in her honor EVERY SINGLE MORNING!

Anyway, her oldest is 14 and when planning for yesterday’s session she offered to have Abby babysit for me. Considering Abby has SIX younger brothers and sisters she sits for I easily threw my “they have to at least be a junior in high school to babysit” rule out the window. BUT. Abby not only had my kids during the session, she had her three youngest siblings as well! SIX kids! It would have driven me to drink but when we got back Abby was as calm as ever and had everything (and EVERYONE) under control and playing nicely!

TOTALLY something we’re doing again! SOON! Like tomorrow when we photograph my good friend’s TWINS! YEAH!

So while the kids were playing with their new extended family (b/c when you have a business partner don’t they inevitably become family?) Kim and I got to meet little baby R.

And OH MY SWEETNESS this baby.

First, she slept THE ENTIRE TIME! I’m not sure we saw her eyes but for the few times she tried to open them but couldn’t resist the warm humid weather and closed them again immediately! Second, THE HAIR. I really do love a baby with GOBS of hair! Third, her brother. OH MY FRECKLES we could have eaten him alive. He was so cute and SO good and I could have just photographed HIM all day so it’s a good thing Grandma was there to take him to the pool!

Kim and I have been talking (I mean, we talk a million times a day but we’ve been SPECIFICALLY talking! HA!) about offering a class to moms who have DSLR’s and want to learn how to USE their camera better.

This would not be for other photographers as we would literally be only covering the basics like, what in the world an f-stop is and how it relates to the ISO. You know, all those really fun questions that keep you up at night!

I say we’ve been “talking” because we’re not 100% sure about the how, what, where, why’s yet BUT… I’m blogging about it b/c we’d love to know…

1. If there is interest! Would YOU be interested in learning how to take better photos with your camera by LEARNING your camera?

2. We want to get a list of women interested started so we can see how many classes we’d want to offer

3. We want to offer ONE test class and will chose one group of women to be our guinea pigs who will get a big savings off the cost of the class

SO… if you think this sounds like a GREAT IDEA please email me at jodie@freshartphotography.com and I’ll get the list started! We’re thinking the first class will be this fall!

Another one of our beautiful July babies! Baby E definitely has followed true with our experience with summer babies, she LOVED being nice and warm. She was just the sweetest thing with lots of blond hair and was so very sleepy for us! Catherine, it was wonderful to meet you and little Miss E.
