Nicole – {St. Louis Senior Photographers}

Posted on November 17, 2009

Let’s get a bit more specific… WEBSTER GROVES Senior Photographers! Love Webster!

So Nicole is a senior at Webster Groves High School, you know, where my husband teaches. And where he coaches soccer. And soccer is where Chris met Tyler. Because Tyler plays on his team. And Tyler is Nicole’s boyfriend. Who asked her out in 7th grade shop class. So they’ve been dating non-stop for five years. Which is so cool. And Tyler came along on Nicole’s session with us. Which was great. Because he is so kind and very obviously in love with her. And I love high school love stories. Because you know, Chris and I started dating in high school. Not 7th grade mind you. The end of senior year. But still. Anyway.

We LOVED working with Nicole and Tyler! Which you will see by the MASSIVE sneak peek you’re about to see!

Ok. So Kim and I shoot a million different things. Like newborns and families and seniors and head shots and football. We do commercial work. We do volunteer work. We work. In however work presents itself. Because we need to make money.

BUT.

If I were to rank our work, newborns would for sure be my number one favorite. The close second? Seniors.

WHY?

Because with newborns you can get the super sweet shots like this:

And the next day go take shots like this:

One day get this:

And the next this:

From tutus to tractor trailers. From porta potties to the sweet smell of Johnson and Johnsons.

I seriously love my job!

Thanks for rocking this out Nicole (and Tyler!)… you are awesome!

The Tallo Family – {St. Louis Family Photographers}

Posted on November 16, 2009

This LUCKY family is heading to New York next week for Thanksgiving! It is my DREAM to go to NY over Thanksgiving and to the Macy’s Parade! Oh man I am SO jealous!

Just had to tell you all that.

Even though it really has nothing to do with their photos! HA!

So the Tallo family was so great to hang out with! Their kids were awesome and CEMENTED the awesomeness when they dug through a dumpster for treasures! Totally kids after my own heart since I’ve known to dive into a few dumpsters in my day! HA! I LOVE trash to treasure! In their defense, so you don’t think they are desperate for toys or something, there was a MASSIVE dumpster by where we were shooting and when we made them get up on a platform, putting them eye-level with the goodies, they found a box full of unopened Mardi Gras beads! So fun!

Anyway, we had a great time with this family! Thanks Tallo’s and have an AMAZING time in New York!

important news for clients!

Posted on November 16, 2009

We are still shooting away with four sessions this past weekend, a few more coming up this month and lots of due dates this winter! We LOVE that we’re going to be staying busy through our “slow” season! Thanks to all of you that share our name with your family and friends that are expecting! Newborns are our passion and we feel so blessed to have due dates into MAY now!

We said a LONG time ago to book early b/c ANY session taking place AFTER November 1st we couldn’t promise Christmas delivery. And that is still true. Our vendors are amazing but they are being bombarded with orders from photographers all over the country too! Our vendors deadline to us for guaranteed Christmas delivery is November 30th. Which means ALL orders HAVE TO BE in to us AND PAID IN FULL by November 30th.

WHAT THAT MEANS…

We launch our galleries on Thursday and orders are due the following Monday. That means we have two more Thursday’s to launch galleries before the deadline. We are working our tushes off to get galleries that aren’t set to go up until later, done early to meet these deadlines but we can’t promise anything. If you are set to have your gallery live either this Thurs or next Thurs you HAVE to get your order in AND PAID immediately. And we know it’s Thanksgiving next week but we can’t help our vendor deadlines! So be prepared to get your order in over the Thanksgiving weekend even if you’re traveling!

If you are wondering when your gallery is due to launch feel free to email us at info@freshartphotography.com. Or if you have any other questions. We have to be strict about this because our hands are tied and don’t want anyone upset when their order isn’t in by the holidays!

This also includes Christmas card orders!!! Any client can order Christmas cards from us but we have to have the design finished and set to print by the 30th! Which means i need to get my butt in gear too for my family cards!

Also, let me stress this again… orders have to be PAID IN FULL by November 30th in order to be placed! We can use PayPal or you can deliver a check, just let us know!

It’s crunch time people! That means LOTS of late nights on our end with editing and ordering and lots of craziness for our amazing friend Julie who does our packaging! We are working as hard as we can to give you amazing images, speedy edits and beautiful products!

Let us know if you have any questions!

More sneak peeks coming soon!

Kim and I had a blast with little Brooke! She was SO sleepy and SO curly and SO sweet! And we played with a few new things… that I am head over heels in love with! I just can’t WAIT until we have a studio (YES! A studio!) so we can stop dragging a million blankets and props around with us! Luckily, Shalyn (Brooke’s Mommy) had incredible things around her house we were able to incorporate! LOVE when we can make the photos personal!

The MIRACLE at Moss Field

Posted on November 15, 2009

Since we’re on a football kick right now let’s talk about Webster Football. Because as much as Kim and I have grown to love Normandy, my heart is with Webster. And yesterday Webster had what people are calling the most amazing 6 seconds in football history!

Webster was ahead 28-14 against Chaminade.

Chaminade went on to score 15 unanswered points including a 48 yard field goal to give Chaminade the lead with 6.9 seconds left to go in the game.

Webster had one play left, threw a hail mary and SCORED with an EIGHTY YARD TOUCHDOWN!

Watch the video!

Chris was there and said that obviously, Chaminade was celebrating but when the Webster player caught that pass and made it through three defenders the Webster fans literally stormed the field and chased him into the end zone!

The video is incredible… especially if you consider that Chaminade thought they had it in the bag after their amazing field goal!

Seriously, watch the video!

And cheer on Webster this Friday night as they go on to the State Semi Finals against Parkway North!

Missouri State Quarter Finals 4A | Normandy

Posted on November 15, 2009

Kim and I spent yesterday afternoon cheering on the Normandy Vikings again and although they played a great game, Helias High School from Jefferson City came out ahead and will be advancing to the State Semi Finals.

Even though Normandy is not normally a school we would cheer for, especially since Kim’s daughter goes to another high school and C teaches at yet another one, Normandy has become close to our hearts and we were so upset at the loss. BUT. There is always another season and the kids that played this year played their hearts out!

Chris always tells his kids to leave their hearts on the field. And that’s exactly what Normandy did.
