hi. hello. and welcome. i'm jodie allen and i'd love to be your photographer! i'm rarely alone though... i'm sure you all know kim weiss, she is the baby whisperer and hands down one of the best photographers out there. she's at all of our newborn sessions and maybe a few others when she's not wrangling her seven kiddos! you will also get to know katie mohr, stylist extraordinaire, at some point too. she is a master at making good into great! i also couldn't live without missy lang, my incredible assistant. she's at most of our classes, runs all mini sessions and is just always there to make my life easier. we have an awesome team and we all love what we do. in fact, we're utterly passionate about it! allow us to capture your life, learn your story and create memories you'll treasure for a lifetime! thanks for stopping by!

spring. glorious spring.

Not sure where you lay your head, but here in St. Louis we had the most glorious weekend imaginable. Seriously. It was like I’d been starving and someone took me to Outback for a huge steak dinner. With extra mashed potatoes. And dessert.

The sun. The warmth. The sky. The blue blue sky.

We got to work in the yard for the first time in at least a year… we finally have kids old enough to play outside around us while we work! YAHOO for toddlers+preschoolers vs. baby+toddlers! We raked and bagged and weeded and trimmed and mulched. There is nothing like flower bed covered in new mulch to make you smile every time you pull in the driveway!

I am now attributing like 99% of my mood to the weather. Because even today, a gloomy semi-chilly day, my friend mentioned how I was taking my craptastic car-stuck-in-the-mud-flat-tire-busted-windshield-wipers-morning in stride. AND I WAS! I laughed about it! Got the car fixed and moved on. And am working in a straightened house with dinner simmering so I can feed my family and enjoy the craziest time of day with my kids!

I AM HAVING A GOOD DAY and a month ago I wouldn’t have.

So THANK YOU GOD for bringing spring!

    Love the spring inspired photos. Do you know I have one you took for me last year sitting in the kitchen window, daffodils, and they make me happy every time I look at them. Glad your day is going great. All kids napping here!

    Not quite that springy up here yet but yesterday on my run I saw the smallest little bit of green poking through the mud in someones yard (a day lilly, I think) and it made me so happy. I am still looking at several inches of snow on the ground out our windows though!

    Love #2. LOVE the macro lens shots. I can totally see you doing a “guess what this close up is” series. And you would make them difficult.

    The last two days here have been beautiful! Spending time outside certainly soothes my soul, especially these days. Sunshine lifts my mood, too.
