Caroline | St. Louis Newborn Photography

This July Kim and will have been working together for two solid years and we’re starting to get more and more newborn clients having their SECOND babies! BEST part of our job! We love being able to watch these families grow and it’s SO fun to see our babies become big brothers and sisters!
Back when I was still Jodified I got to photograph Finn and Jack’s newborn session and then luckily Kim was there for the 6 month, one year, 18 month, etc! And NOW Jack and Finn got to introduce us to their baby sister CAROLINE!
I could literally go on and ON about how much we love this family… BUT I think Maureen and Andy already know and she’ll they’ll be way happier if I shut it and just show them a ton of images! Right guys? HA! We LOVE every single one of these and hope you swoon when you see them! Thanks for trusting us with your third baby!

Are you guys sick of our yarn yet? HA! We are still loving it and so are our clients… to all newborn photographers out there… buy a ton of yarn, throw it in a bowl and you’ll have happy clients!
Of course we had to take our yarn just one step further and I spent HOURS (and hours and hours) making those yarn balls! They are harder than they look or I’m losing my crafting ability!

We also found yet one more way to use our fabric! Kim thought of this and I LOVE it!

This little doll bed was $10 at a yard sale that morning! I love a good deal!
I’m not doing a good job of SHUTTING it tonight am I? HA!
I am obsessed with this shot Kim got at the very end of the session while we waited for Andy to get there… we got Maureen and Caroline in the Allen’s hammock and this was Maureen soothing her with her finger… something she did all session to keep her asleep! It is just so them right now!
Wouldn’t you die to have a shot like this of you and your daughter? Oh Maureen I hope you love this!

the practical joke | st. louis newborn photography
Posted on May 27, 2011
We played a little joke on our client, Melanie, per another client, Amy’s request. After Amy delivered the “gift” yesterday we had permission to blog it!
Amy slipped us the Cubs jersey and asked us to “work it into a SECRET shot” but little did she know we’d go SO over the top with props for this one secret shot! HA! We did that though b/c Melanie had told us she really kind of hated all props and wanted a simple+sweet+clean newborn shoot (HERE is her original post!)… so to make the joke even funnier we grabbed every baseball themed item we could find!
Here are Melanie’s words…
oh, she’s a life-long cubs fan, and i’m a life-long cards fan. so, the rivalry is obvious. i always say that it’s a testament to how much i like her that we can be friends despite her poor judgment. it is obvious that the cubs are wretched, and i try to not rub this in too terribly much. she does have to live in cardinals territory and live with all the cubs bashing that goes on in st. louis. and it doesn’t help that her children have chosen to be cardinals fans. they can’t help their good judgment, i suppose.

Levi | St. Louis Newborn Photographers
Posted on May 24, 2011
Hello Tuesday.
Wow.
After working until 2am on teacher gifts, being an emotional wreck this morning dropping off Bailey for her last day of Kindergarten, chatting with my BFF at Parker’s preschool and dreaming up plans for our summer adventures, today is going to be full of fun+caffeine! Truly, even as I sit her a bit shaky from the caffeine rush (after NOT drinking soda for a few days) and lack of sleep I am just so full of blessings and peace about where we are in life (even in the midst of the not-so-good junk) it’s just awesome.
And I have like five minutes before I get to go pick up Parker as she says goodbye to the Yellow Room and HELLO to the Blue Room but I wanted to bust some pics of little Levi on here knowing I have a VERY FULL behind-the-scenes post coming tomorrow!
SO!
For today… enjoy these SUPER FUN PHOTOS we got to take last weekend and check back tomorrow for the hysterical images of just HOW we took them! Happy last week of school everyone!

(overlay from Vol. 25!)
If you ask me!
Josh and Megan are AWESOME and some of our ultimate favorite clients because they let us get creative in the ghetto with their baby! It was awesome and just wait for tomorrow to see all the HOW DID THEY DO IT shots! HA!

Zoey | St. Louis Newborn Photography

Meeting Zoey, her mom and Grandma was so great! Kim (mom) was incredibly sweet (I loved her dark curly hair so much… wish we had gotten photos of her because she’s gorgeous!) but it was Zoey that had us smitten! This little baby girl smiled the ENTIRE time. Most babies give you at least one little smile, a rare few give you enough you’re actually able to capture them, but Zoey, and I’m NOT kidding, smiled on command! All Kim had to do was say this one thing and Zoey would smile! She even giggled a few times! At one week! Seriously, Kim and I had never seen anything like it! She had US giggling the entire time with her HUGE smiles!
Isn’t that the sweetest thing ever? She did that ALL morning! EXCEPT she smiled 99% of the time when we were holding her and once we got her in position she’d be so sound asleep there would be no more smiles! We got that smile up there as the very last shot! So glad we were able to capture her as she is right now… the baby with the more smiles ever!

Kim, thank you so much for choosing us to capture Zoey’s first days! It was such a pleasure to meet you guys and Zoey will certainly go down in history as the happiest baby we’ve ever met!

Yesterday we got to hang out with sweet+chubby Morgan and he was so easy! It doesn’t hurt that we ADORE his momma! It also doesn’t hurt that he slept soundly while Kim and I worked and chatted around him! It was a really great session!
Melanie asked us to please not use props or hats… that although she loves our work just wanted something simple for her images. We love the simple too, plus not having to change the “scene” a million times made our job a whole lot easier! Well, it made MY job a lot easier but Kim was working hard to think of different poses! HA! Sorry Kim! And just for all you photogs out there… these were all taken on our bean bag. Super simple!
While we worked Melanie played around on her iPad so all of these shots are a surprise for her… and Melanie… we hope you love them!

Melanie caved and had us use this little crown my UBER talented friend, Adriane, made for us! How cute does this little prince look?
Thanks for coming over Melanie and for allowing us to capture Morgan’s first days! We can’t wait to see him at his 6 month session!

We don’t get them often, but when clients send us their Christmas cards or birth announcements or birthday invites it makes us SO happy! We sell our digital files so clients are able to do what they want with them and it makes us SO happy when we see things like this:
Look at how cute Addie is on her birth announcement!
Thanks to Sara and Justin for mailing it to us!
